Disbursement of Funds

Individual scholarships are paid directly to the institution upon receipt of completed scholarship contract and verification of enrollment. Students must submit all documentation by the end of the calendar year in which their scholarship is awarded in order for funds to be paid for the awarded school year. Upon the new year, any outstanding awards will be applied toward the next year’s scholarship fund.

Charitable donations are paid when the award is presented.

Since 2006, the Officers’ Spouses’ Club of Whidbey Island has given over $100,000 back to the local community. We offer military dependent scholarships for spouses continuing their educations as well as graduating seniors pursuing a college degree. We also award donations annually to local non profits to enrich our community.

The amount distributed in awards is determined by the club’s annual proceeds. The individual award amounts are decided by our Scholarship and Charity Committee in early June after our fundraising is complete. Please support our efforts by becoming a member, participating in fundraising events such as Time and Talent, or by donating. Your contributions directly impact your military and local community.

The Officers’ Spouses’ Club of Whidbey Island (OSCWI) is a non-federal, private entity operated and controlled by individuals in their private capacities.  OSCWI is not a part of, managed by, operated or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, or Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.
